Borco-Marken-Import Matthiesen

Interior Design

Extremes come into play for the bar for BORCO on the Elbstrand, namely temperature differences and weather conditions. Which materials were used? The entire substructure consists of waterproof screen printing plates, an indestructible material. The deck is also made of solid wood elements in oak and, finally, the front is not decorative, but made of riveted brass and copper components.

HAUS F consciously incorporates maritime elements – did you go foraging in Hamburg’s harbour for these? The working title was “Nautilus Bar”, inspired by Jules Verne’s fictional submarine. Using research and mood boards – the basis for every project – we gradually found our way around the topic and then took the direction that we subsequently consistently stuck to.
